Planet Green Television Debuted June 4, 2008

Planet Green, the first and currently only 24 hour eco-lifestyle television network made its debut June 4, 2008 on cable and satellite TV. To find out if your cable or satellite tv company are offering Planet Green (both Dish Network and DirectTV are offering it), click here to go to Planet Green’s channel finder.

There will be some familiar faces on the new station including:
- Tom Bergeron (host of Dancing With the Stars) as the host of Supper Club
- Actor Adrian Grenier in Alter Ego

- Bill Nye (the science guy) in Stuff Happens
- acclaimed celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse with a show titled Emeril Green that will be shot on location at Whole Foods. I’m happy to see Emeril with a new show. Emeril used to be the king of Food Network with his show, Emeril Live, but it was canceled several months ago after being on the air for 10 years because of the network wanting to move in a new direction.

The show I’m most interested in seeing on Planet Green is titled Wasted.
It’s a half hour reality series (yes, it’s reality tv but this should looks like it will actually be interesting) that visits environmentally unfriendly homes across America showing them how much they waste things. The show hosts, Anabelle Burwitch and Holter Graham, are on a mission to shrink the ecological footprint of Americans. It sounds like the show will be a humbling and eye opening experience for the people featured on it.
