Things have changed.
A study done by GM in 2008 as part of their Challenge X competition found:
- 88 percent of women say they would rather “chat up” someone who owns the latest fuel efficient car than someone who owns the latest sports car
- 80 percent of American car buyers (male and female) would find a person who has the latest fuel efficient car more interesting to talk to at a party than someone who has the latest sports car.
- 45 percent of 18-43 year olds say it’s a faux pas these days to have a car that isn’t green or environmentally friendly.
Now don’t you feel bad for picking on that guy in high school who drove that geeky looking Chevy Citation?
