Indoor Pollution Can Be Worse Than The Air Outside

Did you know that the air inside your home can be 10 times more polluted than the air outside?

According to treehugger.com
pollutants such as mold, plant pollen, pet dander, radon, and VOC’s can combine to create some pretty bad air inside a home.

While it’s easy to figure out where plant pollen and pet dander come from, where do some of the other pollutants lurk in our homes?

Polyurethane is common in mattresses.
Formaldehyde, dioxin, PCB’s, and PBB is used in furniture.
Even the cleaners we use can cause air contamination.

What can we do to improve our indoor air?

Make sure there is proper ventilation which is as easy as opening some windows.
Use green cleaning products.
Keep filters and vents clean.
Look for furniture that doesn’t have formaldehyde, dioxin, PCB’s or PBB in it by asking when shopping.
Keep curtains, drapes, and carpets clean or get rid of them and install environmentally friendly wood floors like bamboo instead and easier to clean bamboo blinds.
