Being Vegan Is Better For The Environment Than Driving A Hybrid Car


Did you know that researchers at the University of Chicago have determined that eating a vegan diet is 50% more effective in counteracting global warming than switching the standard American car out for the most popular hybrid car on the market, the Toyota Prius?

It’s because animals generate more greenhouse gas emissions than cars do. The United Nations has found that “raising animals for food generates 40 percent more greenhouse gas emissions than all the cars, SUV’s, trucks and airplanes in the world combined.”

Maybe we need to take the phrase “go green” a little more literally and start making things like green vegetables a mainstay of our diet. I guess Popeye had the right idea when he ate all that spinach!
