An Alternative to Plastic Water Bottles

Twenty three billion gallons of bottled water is consumed every year.

That’s a lot of plastic bottles.

It wouldn’t be so bad if all those water bottles were recycled, but we know they aren’t. A lot of them are tossed into the trash and end up in landfills. klean kanteen

From what I’m seeing, the new and environmentally friendly bottled water is a stainless steel water bottle (like the one pictured here) filled with tap water.

Why stainless steel rather than plastic?

Toxins can leach from plastic into water. Stainless steel is non-leaching, plus it is 100% recyclable.

Plus, the bottle pictured here, from Klean Kanteen, has a wide mouth so ice cubes can be put into it.

And, they’re not as heavy as you might think. Klean Kanteen’s 27 ounce stainless steel water bottle only weighs 8 ounces.
