Tips for Greener Travel

While the “greenest” travel tip may be to do less of it or to only travel places your feet and your bike can take you, that’s impractical. Who wants to stay home all the time? I sure don’t.

DivineCaroline offers eco-friendly travel tips that may seem like little things, but as we have all heard countless times before, if we all do our part those little things will add up to big things. beach

Some of the travel tips:

- Use the bathroom at the airport and not the one on the plane because the energy needed to flush the airplane toilet uses the same amount of energy as driving a car for 6 miles.

- Stay at a green hotel. Find one here.

- Ditch bottled water and instead use a refillable and reusable stainless steel water bottle.

- When renting a car ask for a Prius or other hybrid or alternative fuel vehicle. If they are not available, go for a vehicle that gets good gas mileage instead of a gas guzzling SUV.
