Paris, France debuted the world’s largest self-serve bicycle transit system in July 2007, called Vélib, that in one year’s time has generated over 25 million new bicycle trips of which 10 percent replaced car trips. That’s some pretty good results for a program that just celebrated its first birthday on July 15, 1008.
